AC casinos to report 3rd qtr earnings on Thursday

The full fury of Hurricane Irene on Atlantic City’s 11 casinos is expected to be reflected in third-quarter earnings that will be released today.

The numbers include a three-day closure made necessary when the hurricane churned up the coast in August.

The state issued an evacuation order for Atlantic City and many coastal areas. Casinos were forced to close until the storm had passed.

Several casinos have already said they experienced multi-million-dollar losses due to the storm hitting on what would have been one of the busiest weekends of the summer.
