Casey wants ban on bath salt ingredients

While his call for a ban on bath salts has been thus far unheeded, Sen. Bob Casey is now looking for a temporary ban on the salts’ two main ingredients: methylenedioxpyrovalerone and mephedrone.

A temporary ban would give the Department of Health and Human Services time to research both substances to determine if they qualify for a permanent ban, the Citizens Voice reports.

The hallucinogenic bath salts have been linked to violent crimes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
