Carlos Ruiz graces Sports Illustrated cover

    The only thing better than seeing Carlos Ruiz on the cover of Sports Illustrated would be an accompanying cover title that simply says, “Chooooooooch!”

    It doesn’t, but seeing an intimidating-looking Ruiz on the cover (and the six-page spread) is still something worth talking about. Former Daily News writer Gary Smith profiles the catcher and everything he sees from behind his mask. The piece is a follow-up to Smith’s SI article about the Phillies’ starting rotation.
