Carl Lewis placed back on ballot for New Jersey state Senate race

A federal appeals court panel today has given former Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis the green light to continue his campaign for the state Senate in New Jersey.

The Statehouse Bureau reports the appeals court made the ruling to overturn Lt. Gov Kim Guadagno’s decision to remove Lewis from the ballot on the ground he did not meet the state’s four-year residency requirement for state Senate candidates.

The decision comes just days before the deadline to print ballots.
