Capsized boat discovered off the coast of Deal, NJ

Authorities say a capsized boat was found on the beach in a New Jersey shore town.

The Asbury Park Press reports that emergency responders were called to Deal around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Crews spotted an overturned boat on the rocks between two jetties in Deal Beach.

Officials say no one was in the boat when it washed up. Its occupants had been rescued Sunday after the 26-foot vessel overturned off Sandy Hook.

Divers had tried unsuccessfully to pull the boat out of the water.
