Camden transsexual sues employer for discrimination
A Camden man is suing his former employer on the grounds his termination was gender-based. El’Jai Devoureau was born a female, but identifies himself as a man.
Devoureau began taking male hormones and had a sex change operation about five months ago, the Associated Press reports, and has a new birth certificate, Social Security card and drivers license that identify him as a man.
Devoureau claims in a suit filed Friday Urban Treatment Associates in Camden fired him from a job in which he was required to watch men urinate because he wasn’t born a man.
