Camden police chief has community’s support to lead regional force

There’s a lot of work still to be done if Camden County is going to have a regional police force, but there’s a leading candidate for the top position.

City and county officials have pledged their support for Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson, the Courier Post reports. Thomson is a 17-year veteran who became chief in 2008.

As early as next Tuesday, the city could introduce a resolution to join the county in establishing a regional force, and the new patrols could be implemented as early as Spring 2012.
