Camden magazine highlights city’s positive offerings

Amid the layoffs, library closing and general low morale, Camden has taken a media hit recently. The bad press hasn’t gone unnoticed. So a public relations firm has taken it upon itself to showcase the city’s shinier side. And yes, there is one.

Camden Insider is an online publication of Cooper Grant Communications, a firm based in Camden that wants you to “Re-Discover, Re-Think, and Re-View the City of Camden!”

Features include historic photos and facts, an events calendar, business directory and something called Rumor Control. Nothing’s been published on that page yet, but it’s touted as a place to defend the city’s image and “tell the whole story” about Camden.

There’s even a place on the site to find “nearby fun” in Philadelphia and other parts of South Jersey. A nice gesture, but probably not helping keep people in town.
