Camden Diocese to close three schools at year’s end

Though not as sweeping as the announcement made two weeks ago in Philadelphia, the Camden Diocese has also called for school closings.

Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, St. Mary Magdalen Elementary School in Millville and Notre Dame School in the Landisville-Newfield area will close by the end of the year.

The News of Cumberland County has a copy of the letter Camden Bishop Joseph Galante sent to parents at the affected schools.

“I am aware that closing schools results in disappointment, sadness and even feelings of anger.”

That’s the exactly the reaction Sacred Heart has had. The Facebook campaign to keep the school open has already begun.
