The 2016 Camden Comic Con is this Saturday

Rutgers University-Camden will again host the 2016 Camden Comic Con, a convention celebrating comic book art and culture, this Saturday at the campus Athletics and Fitness Center.
 
This year’s special guest comic creators, artists and writers include Chris Claremont, Larry Hama, Bob McLeod and Claire Folkman.
 
The event features a full day of workshops such as the ABCs of super-hero creation and collaborative work on comics, plus a demonstration on film and stage fighting.
 
Panel discussions include Real Geek Girls: Celebrating Women in Fandom and Fiction and Creator P’wned: Being Yourself in Both Indie and Commercial Comics.
 
Claremont, Hama and Stevan Zivadinovic will discuss their career and creative processes in the artist talks sessions.
 
For the kids, there will be artist-led My Little Pony drawing and mix-and-match monster collage workshops swell as a haiku workshop. 
 
Other activities include table top gaming, gaming tournaments (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Dicemasters) and a Movie Buff Game Show contest.
 
Feel free to come dressed as your favorite comic character and join the cosplay contest.
 
Admission and parking are free (only in Lots 1,2,3, and 14).
