Busy day in Dover this Independence Day

It’s a jam packed day of activities as Dover celebrates the Fourth of July.

The festivities start around 9 a.m. with exhibits and historic buildings along the Green open for tours.  There will be a screening of a movie about the historic ride of Caesar Rodney in the Old State House at 11 a.m., and again at 1 and 3 p.m.

The American Legion will put on the annual Fourth of July parade starting at 6 p.m.  The parade will wind it’s way along State Street from Hazel Road to the Green.

There will be a flyover from Dover Air Force Base around 7:45, followed by a concert by the 287th Army Band from the Delaware National Guard.  The night ends with fireworks over Legislative Hall at around 9:20.
