Burlington County union employees get word their jobs are part of budget review

    More than 40 Burlington County union employees have been sent Rice notices, alerting them that their positions are part of an upcoming budget review. Jobs at the Corrections and Buildings and Grounds departments are up for review.
    The Burlington County Times reports the county freeholders assure the Rice notices are not layoff notices. In this case, 39 Buildings and Grounds employees who work night shifts received notices. The other seven notices went to the Corrections Department. More notices could go out as freeholder look for ways to cut spending.
