Bullet hits man in belt buckle at Philly store

Investigators say a man was saved by his belt buckle when he was hit by a stray bullet during a shootout outside a Philadelphia grocery store.

WPVI-TV reports it happened in the city’s Grays Ferry section around 4 p.m. Wednesday.Police say a man was shot in the stomach during a shootout on the street and that a stray bullet also hit a store employee at 8 Brother’s Supermarket.

The 38-year-old employee, Bienvenido Reynoso, says he was getting ready to take a hand truck outside when the shootout broke out. He went outside and hit ground, but didn’t immediately realize he’d been hit.

A short time later, he says someone pointed out he had a hole in his shirt. He then found the bullet stuck in his belt buckle.
