British company brings jobs to the Navy Yard

Mark Group is setting up its U.S. headquarters at the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia, bringing at least 300 jobs to the region.

Governor Ed Rendell and Mayor Michael Nutter attended the introduction of  Mark Group at their new Navy Yard Headquarters.

Mark Group does weatherization and installs energy efficiency products such as heat pumps, insulation and solar hot water heaters in the United Kingdom and Australia.  The company’s USA head Jeff Bartos says their aim is to duplicate the company’s success in the United States.

“We focus on renewable energy technologies for homes and for businesses,” he says. ” The real focus is a whole house energy-saving package. There are very few businesses that wrap it up into one neat package.”
