Brett Mandel hosts ice cream social to fundraise for controller campaign
Looks like Brett Mandel will make another run for Philadelphia City Controller.
He ran an unsuccessful campaign against Controller Alan Butkovitz back in 2009, but has since become the self-proclaimed “Budget Bulldog.”
And in an email that started out much the same as the others Mandel sends, there was this today:
“Celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer with an Old-Fashioned Family Ice Cream Social fund raiser in support of my candidacy for City Controller in the 2013 election.”
Mandel and some of his supporters are hosting the event Wednesday.
Mandel was one of three Democratic candidates for Controller in 2009. He and John Braxton lost the primary, and Butkovitz went on to defeat now-City Commissioner Al Schmidt, a Republican.
