Bob Brady to take part in ‘Food Stamp Challenge’

Think you could get by on $5 of food per day?

Rep. Bob Brady, D-Philadelphia, is going to try. The Metro reports he’ll take part in the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger’s “Food Stamp Challenge.”
During the week of April 23, participants will try to eat just $5 of food per day to match Pennsylvania’s average food stamp benefit.

The movement is in reaction to a state proposal to eliminate eligibility for SNAP recipients with more than $5,000 to $9,000 in assets.
