‘Boardwalk Empire’ author speaks at Ocean City Library

First came the Boardwalk, then the book, then the TV series.

Tonight, the author inspired by the Atlantic City Board — and who inspired HBO — will be at the Ocean City Free Public Library to discuss his book, Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City, and the tales behind it.

Nelson Johnson will speak at 7 p.m. about the resort town’s history. His nonfiction book led to the popular HBO fictional series, Boardwalk Empire.
