A Chester County school is celebrating its recent Blue Ribbon recognition.
The Blue Ribbon award is distributed by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Daily Local News reports Pocopson Elementary learned about the award in September, but the school only just celebrated this week with a presentation from the Philadelphia division of the Department of Education. According to the Daily Local News, Pocopson Elementary is the second school in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District to receive the distinction.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors elementary, middle and high schools that are either high performing or have improved student achievement.
