Blatstein buys Philadelphia Media Network building

Philadelphia Media Network has announced a purchase agreement for its building at 400 N. Broad St. and its adjacent parking spaces.

The buyer is who else but Bart Blatstein of Tower Investments, Inc., the developer behind the Piazza and soon-to-be Superfresh complex in Northern Liberties.

“PMN is exploring options with respect to their future space, including the possibility of remaining at the 400 North Broad Street location or identifying new space in the region,” reads a statement from the company, which owns the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com.

The purchase price hasn’t been disclosed, but CEO Greg Osberg calls the sale an “important step in allowing PMN to become better positioned to meet the demands of a changing media landscape.”

Does this mean we could one day see mixed-use development at the site? Maybe something with “ink” in the name…
