Black Friday turns into construction mess for business owners in North Jersey

A day of high volume business turned into a construction mess for business owners in Chester when a construction project forced the closure of a block of Main Street on the busiest shopping day of the year.

The Star-Ledger reports a water-line project early Friday morning had crews closing the block of Main Street just off Route 206 to tear up asphalt.

Some business owners and the Borough Mayor tell the Star-Ledger they don’t believe the borough was notified of the project. The Star-Ledger says county road officials could not be reached for comment.
