Biden to rail passengers: all aboard!

    Vice President Joe Biden talks about reinvestment in rail under the stimulus package.

    The federal government is investing five billion dollars on railroads under the stimulus package. One of Amtrak’s more famous passengers is Vice President Joe Biden, and he helped celebrate that investment yesterday at Wilmington’s Amtrak train station, which he has used for more than 30 years to commute to Washington.

    Railroads around the nation are set to receive one billion dollars a year for five years under the stimulus plan. Biden says it’s the biggest investment in American rail in modern history.
