Beach restoration will wait until after Labor Day

Restoration of the beaches at Rehoboth and Dewey will wait until after Labor Day.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says a contractor working at Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island is relocating to deal with a New Jersey project, and won’t return to Delaware until June.  The goal, according to a spokesperson, is to complete the Bethany and Fenwick projects by the 4th of July.  The Rehoboth and Dewey projects would be done after Labor Day.  Originally the goal was to have them completed by Memorial Day.
