Beach buggy access prohibited at Island Beach State Park due to stormy conditions

Due to stormy conditions, beach buggy access is now prohibited at Island Beach State Park.
According to a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection release, “the combination of rough surf, higher than normal tides and high winds have made the access paths impassable.”
The closure is until further notice, the release states.
Forecasters expect gusty winds and coastal flooding concerns to persist through at least Saturday.
