Pennsylvania chiropractor Joseph Lerner has been sentenced to three years in prison for fraudulently billing eight insurance companies.
Out of his practice in Horsham, Lerner billed the agencies for services he didn’t provide or supervise. Additionally, Lerner charged patients and their insurance agencies for massages that were neither performed by medical professionals or covered under the insurance policies.
For his crimes, which spanned between 2007 and March 2010, Lerner will also pay $1,932,910.95 to the insurances agencies, Aetna, Independence Blue Cross and Highmark among them.
