Police in Philadelphia are investigating the death of a baby after medics were called to a downtown day care center.

Authorities say the 7-month-old girl was in a crib at a day care center a few blocks from the business district when she was found unresponsive yesterday afternoon. The girl was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia a short time later.

A police special victims unit is investigating the death.

No cause of death has been determined.
