Atlantic City’s Memorial Day tourism up from last year

    Things are looking up for Atlantic City. The scorching holiday weekend brought a 3 percent increase in tourism from last year.

    Snoop Dogg, who performed int he Shore town over Memorial Day weekend, played a role, but the Associated Press reports numbers were up in general.

    The South Jersey Transportation Authority reported nearly 372,000 vehicles jamming and honking their way into the city – up by about 10,000. Steel Pier saw about 8 percent more visitors than last year, and Absecon Lighthouse took in about 14 percent more visitors.
