Atlantic City redevelopment director earns more than predecessor

Atlantic City’s Casino Redevelopment Authority is getting what it’s paying for, a spokeswoman says.

New CRDA Director John Palmieri is making $225,000 annually – a huge jump from predecessor Tom Carver’s $145,874 base salary.

The figures were revealed following an Open Records request from the Press of Atlantic City, and the CRDA says Palmieri’s paycheck is on par with the industry and the work he’ll be doing. It’s based on what other economic development executives are earning, and is commensurate with Palmieri’s experience, the authority says.

Palmieri is also making more than Gov. Chris Christie, who pulls in $182,000 annually.
