Arts Expo and Harry Potter fest underway in Northwest Philadelphia

The band Breakwater performed last night in Mt. Airy, as part of the 26th annual Philadelphia International Arts Expo. The funk and soul band formed in 1971 and played to a packed house at 7165 Lounge (formerly NXNW).

The arts expo is one of the largest African-American arts festival in the nation and continues through Sunday on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue. The event is produced by October Gallery.

In Chestnut Hill the first annual Harry Potter Weekend is underway. One of the featured events is the Quidditch matches being played at Chestnut Hill College. There will be a Harry Potter costume parade on Sunday at 2 p.m. starting at 8426 Germantown Avenue.
