Arrest of downtown Wilmington business burglar

A Delaware man is behind bars after Wilmington Police caught the suspect involved in some suspicious activity.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, bicycle patrol observed 46-year old Antoine Alpheaus of Wilmington attempting to evade the police. However, Alpheaus did not manage to get away and was immediately taken into custody when the patrolman discovered burglar tools. Investigators also found copper pipes in a suitcase he was carrying.

Alpheaus was arrested and charged with possession of burglar tools. Additional charges may be on the way after the police conclude their investigation. In the meantime, the Criminal Investigation Division is conducting interviews and combing the area where Alpheaus was spotted. Investigators are also looking into several local burglaries to see if any of them are connected.
