Appeal filed in Rizzo ballot challenge decision

An appeal has officially been filed in the judge’s decision to reject the challenge against Councilman Frank Rizzo’s re-election ballot.

Heard in the Hall reports Republican leader of the 27th Ward Matthew Wolfe has filed the appeal, saying Rizzo should not be allowed to accept his DROP payment and seek re-election, even though Judge James M. Lynn said otherwise.

Appeals to challenges against Councilwoman Marian Tasco and Commissioner Marge Tartaglione are pending. The deadline is Monday.
