Anti-violence motorcade rolls through North Philadelphia neighborhoods

    At 10 a.m. today, the “Stop the Violence Motorcade & Rally” departs from Sixth Street and Girard Avenue.The motorcade will stop at “hot spots” in the 19122 and 19123 ZIP codes as a follow-up to a July 2nd rally for peace with residents of Yorktown, Richard Allen Homes, Cambridge, Spring Garden Apartments and Harrison Plaza with support from Pa. Rep. Curtis Thomas.
    Stops include Seventh and Green, 10th and Master, 13th and Fairmount and 13th and Jefferson.The motorcade ends at Reno Place near Ninth and Brown, where participants will rally for peace.Editor’s note: Thanks to reader Bob Shipman for submitting details about this event.
