Animal advocate Jen Utley not keen on return of Atlantic City’s diving horses

In case you hadn’t heard, Atlantic City is bringing diving horses back to Steel Pier.

Jen Utley hadn’t heard either when Philly mag called her, but upon learning the details, the animal advocate and wife to Phillies player Chase Utley was none too pleased.

Once a thriving attraction, the diving horses — which are exactly what they sound like —  will return to the Steel Pier as the Casino Redevelopment Authority aims to ramp up tourism in Atlantic City.

“. . . as an intelligent human being living in a modern society, I can say that this is definitely not a step in the right direction,” Utley told Philly mag.

When we broke the news to our readers last week, they had other ideas in mind for how to win back tourists. Do you think the diving horses a step forward or back for the city?
