An end to services: AirTran announces it will cease service in Atlantic City

In a blow to Atlantic City travel, AirTran has announced it will cease service there by the beginning of next year.

According to a report from CBS 3, the airline company will end service in Atlantic City in January due to what a spokesman called an “under-performing market.”

CBS 3 reports the decision also was due to high fuel prices.

AirTran’s decision now makes Spirt Airlines as the only carrier offering regular service.
