American Lung Association board meets in Delaware

The board of directors of the American Lung Association is meeting for the first time in Delaware.

Gov. Jack Markell planned to join Delaware pulmonologist Dr. Albert Rizzo at Friday’s board meeting at the Christiana Hilton in Newark.
Rizzo, chief of the pulmonary and critical care medicine section at Christiana Care Health Systems, is the current chairman of the lung association’s board.

Before being named last year to a one-year term as the national volunteer chair of the American Lung Association board, Rizzo served a two-year term as the speaker of the association’s nationwide assembly.

He also served two terms as board chairman of the state chapter.
