Air quality alert issued in parts of PA, NJ

    Air quality alerts were issued for parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania Monday.

    According to the National Weather Service alert, the air quality alert is in effect until 10 p.m. for several parts of New Jersey.  The air quality alert was issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

    In Pennsylvania, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has issued a code orange air quality alert for the Philadelphia Metro area.

    According to the National Weather Service, the air may become unhealthy for children, people suffering from asthma and the elderly.
