AIDS Fund’s 14th annual Black-Tie GayBINGO night makes for a memorable event at The Crystal Tea Room

Brought to you by Freemans Auctioneers, The Circuit, with Caroline Stewart, takes you to The Crystal Tea Room for the 14th annual Black-Tie GayBINGO night. Become a regular of our new blog to keep up with the most beneficial philanthropic events.

The Crystal Tea Room hosts many events throughout the course of the year, but none so memorable or glamorous as Black-Tie GayBINGO night. The 14th annual event held Fri., March 1, is one of the areas most creative and offbeat annual events.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and a silent auction, six bingo games and ongoing entertainment from a troupe of Bingo Verifying Divas – a glamorous gaggle dressed in drag.

Not in drag but just as fabulous, John Hollingshead and Afríca Jones were honored as Ferrara Family Volunteer of the Year and Babette Josephs was honored as Favorite Straight Person of the Year.

The fun filled event may be full of laughs and gaffs, but the bottom line is all about awareness. Proceeds from GayBINGO, produced by The AIDS Fund grant program supports organizations in the Philadelphia Region that provide AIDS and HIV-related services, education, and prevention including increasing public awareness of HIV/AIDS issues. AIDS Fund also produces AIDS Walk Philly, an annual walk held in October.
