After 16-year hiatus, Philadelphia Cup Regatta returns

After a 16-year hiatus, the Philadelphia Cup Regatta returned to the Delaware River today with nearly 80 sailboats setting sail.

According to the event’s website, seven classes were set to race today, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and scheduled to finish at 2 p.m.

CBS 3 reports organizers of the event said the cup serves as a great opportunity to support the Independence Seaport Museum and the river itself.
