A local photographer captured footage of the ongoing boardwalk construction between Seaside Park and Seaside Heights early Monday evening.

Joe Standard of PR Aerial Photography & Video Services launched a drone and flew throughout the construction area.

While there has been substantial progress on the Seaside Heights portion of the boardwalk, there is an area between Seaside Heights and Stevie D’s Funtown Arcade that remains just sand, according to the video. Crews have installed pilings from the southern end of the Seaside Park boardwalk to near the middle of Stevie D’s Funtown Arcade and will eventually link the two areas together.

The pier upon which the Beach Bar once sat is also mostly complete, with crews installing decking from west to east.

Last Friday, a construction worker told Jersey Shore Hurricane News that he’s hoping the project will be done by July 4.

In late April, the Seaside Park Land Use Board gave the green light for Funtown Pier Associates, the entity that owns the beachfront land between Porter and Stockton avenues, to rebuild its stretch of boardwalk that was destroyed by the massive September 2013 fire.
