Acting state education secretary awaits Senate approval to cabinet

    Hearings continue today for Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett’s cabinet nominations. Action Education Secretary Ronald Tomalis will go before a state Senate panel today to determine if he’ll formally take on the position.

    The 48-year-old was a senior official in former Gov. Tom Ridge’s Education Department and then served in the U.S. Department of Education.
