Ackerman’s $905,000 buyout is due today

Arlene Ackerman is set to come into some money today. The ex-School District of Philadelphia superintendent is due her $905,000 buyout today — two weeks after the School Reform Commission approved the deal.

This comes after Ackerman cashed in her unused vacation and sick days for a final biweekly paycheck of $86,700. Her buyout is made up of $500,000 in public funds and $405,000 in private donations via the Philadelphia’s Children First Fund.
    The Public School Notebook reports
the district is responsible for the buyout whether or not the private funds come through.

An investigation began last week to determine whether Ackerman’s badmouthing of the district is a violation of the agreement.
