Abington students injured by falling tree on first day of classes

Four Penn State Abington students got quite the welcome yesterday, the first day of the fall semester.

While on campus Monday afternoon, they were struck by a fallen tree branch and had to be evaluated at Abington Memorial Hospital, according to the Glenside News Globe Times Chronicle.

The accident brought campus medical personnel, Abington police and a medical unit to the scene. Though the university says the condition of the Abington trees was inspected just this summer, officials will investigate this incident.
