A “10” today

There’s not much to say about the weather today other than it’s downright gorgeous.

It’s a perfect day to take a long nap on the beach after staying up until sunrise to watch the Perseid meteor shower.

With high pressure in firm control over the area, it’s mostly sunny and comfortably dry. Highs in the low 80s. Light northeast winds shifting to southeast during the afternoon. There is a slight chance of a shower overnight.

Humidity builds back Monday and Tuesday, when there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

BOAT/BEACH: This seagull in Brick this morning was loving the weather, and you will, too. But there’s no need for that umbrella today. (Thanks to Names on the Jersey Shore for the photo.) A light northeast wind will shift to the southeast, keeping flies away. Breakers and swells are around 2 feet, the ocean temperature is in the upper 60s to low 70s, and there is a low risk of rip currents. Always swim near a lifeguard.
