7th District Police Captain issues burglary alert in Bustleton

Capt. Joseph Zaffino of the 7th District issued a burglary alert yesterday in response to an uptick in certain parts of the district:

“7th District residents be alert for a number of burglaries occurring in a concentrated area our of district.

The blocks include the 9200-block of Old Bustleton Avenue, 1900 Nester Place, 9100 Bickley Street and 9200 Masland Street.

Two of these streets have been hit more than once.  This area had been fliered in the past and will be fliered again today. Although an arrest was made at 9200 Old Bustleton just a few days ago, the burglaries in this area still continue.

Please notify neighbors, friends, who may live in this area, and if you are a resident, please be diligent in keeping an open eye for suspicious activity. Police are aggressively checking these areas, but with your help, we are hoping to bring this burglary problem to an end.

Again, ensure all doors and windows are locked. First floor windows should be shut and locked when sleeping on upper floors. If you see suspicious activity, do not take any action and call 911 immediately.”
