75 years and counting: the Georgetown Oyster Eat is tonight

The Georgetown Fire Company’s annual Oyster Eat fundraiser takes place tonight.  Traditionally the event is exclusively for men, but the ladies in southern Delaware are also up for some food and fun.

The Oyster Eat is 75 years old.  The U.S. Congress has recognized the event for its cultural and historical significance.  Tickets are $27 in advance or $30 at the door tonight at 8:00 p.m.  The Lewes Fire Department hosts its ladies-only Shrimp Feast tonight as well, an event that’s in its 22nd year.  Tickets are also available in advance.
