New Jersey State Police say seven people were ejected from a mini-van during an accident tonight on the Atlantic City Expressway.

Police say the van rolled over in the westbound lanes of the expressway in Winslow Township, N.J.

Several medical helicopters arrived on scene to airlift victims to the hospital.

David Vaux tells NBC10 that he drove by about a minute after the crash, snapping this picture, that captures the chaotic scene.

“About 4 to 5 cars pulled over to the side and ran out. There was about 4 to 5 kids on the ground. One was bleeding bad but a Good Samaritan was holding a towel to their head,” said Vaux.

NBC10 is working to find out the condition of those people inside the van.

“Everyone seemed conscious, but it was a very bloody scene,” said Vaux.

As of 9:45 p.m, only one of the westbound lanes is getting by on the A.C. Expressway as emergency crews work to clear the scene of the crash.
