Crime blotter July 1 to July 7

July 1: 5000 block Wade St. – a man was murdered. Police found the complainant suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m.

July 7: 4400 block N. Cleveland St. – a man was murdered. Police found the complainant with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:34 p.m.

July 1, 2011

5200 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said she was stabbed under her left breast with a kitchen knife during a dispute with a group of females. Complaiant was taken to the hospital. She was listed in critical, but stable condition.

2900 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – complainant said he was mugged at the location. He said an unknown male offender approached him and asked him for money. Offender then showed the complainant a handgun and asked him again. Offender fled on foot with $20.

5000 block Wade St. – a man was murdered. Police found the complainant suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m.

3700 block N. Gratz St. – 2007 Chevy Impala stolen between 8 p.m. June 30 and 7 a.m. July 1.

2900 block Judson St. – a man was murdered. Police found the complainant with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

2800 block Judson St. – a woman charged at a police officer with a knife.

2800 block Judson St. – complainant said his girlfriend charged at him with a knife.

 

July 2, 2011

5500 block Pulaski Ave. – copper pipes stolen from the property between 1 p.m. June 27 and 1 p.m. July 2.

2300 block W. Venango St. – complainant said a female offender maced and stabbed her during a street fight. Complaiant was taken to the hospital.

2800 block W. Somerset St. – complainant said he was sleeping when a known offender began choking him. Offender fled after a struggle. Complainant said the offender fled with a wallet containing $1500 and two VISA credit cards.

 

July 3, 2011

5500 block Wissahickon Ave. – 1995 Honda Accord stolen between 12 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 3. Tom-Tom GPS, baby car seat and $10 in coins were inside the car at the time.

3600 block N. 22nd St. – complainant said a male offender hit him in the head with a bottle and then, while walking home, pulled a knife on him. Complainant pulled out a knife to defend himself. The offender then grabbed a metal cane from his truck and beat the complainant. Complainant was taken to the hospital. The incident was started when the complainant attempted to stop the offender from beating an unknown female.

 

Jul 4, 2011

2900 block W. Chalmers Ave. – complainant said three men mugged her at gunpoint. She said the group approached her from behind. One of the offenders pointed a black handgun at her and told her to “give me everything”. Complainant began to fight with the offender, who took $40 from the complainant’s hand. Another offender pushed the complainant’s sister away. The offenders then fled in a Grand Marquis.

5300 block Wayne Ave. – complainant said that a male offender pulled a knife on him and told him to fight him. Complaiant ran from the offender, who chased him with his friends. Complainant escaped the incident with no injuries.

3700 block N. Broad St. – complainant said two men mugged her at gunpoint around 7:15 p.m. July 4. Offenders fled with a pink purse containing $1500, several credit cards, social security cards, birth certificate and an ID.

1700 block W. Pike St. – iPAD, Apple Laptop and several golf clubs stolen from a 2009 Acura between 4-5 p.m. July 3.

3300 block N. 15th St. – complainant said his brother-in-law stabbed him in the head with a knife. Complainant and offender were taken to the hospital. Both were listed in stable condition.

2700 block N. Broad St. – police found a woman hitting a teenager with a shoe. Offender was arrested and taken to the hospital.

 

July 5, 2011

4000 block Ridge Ave. – drug store employee said two offenders in Muslim garb robbed the business at gunpoint. The offenders ran off with four bottles of Xanax, 20 bottles of Oxycontin and $150 in cash.

1600 block W. Tioga St. – 2006 Dodge Charger stolen between 5-6 p.m. July 5. A Drexel University work jacket and a pair of boxing sneakers were inside the car at the time.

1700 block Dounton St. – complainant said his girlfriend stabbed him in his left index finger with a knife and scratched him on his chest during a dispute. Offender was arrested.

1600 block W. Glenwood Ave. – 2002 Ford Explorer stolen between approx. 1:30-1:40 p.m. July 5. Complainant said her boyfriend left the vehicle running while he took some laundry into the house. The car was gone when he returned to the street.

2900 block N. Broad St. – Complainant said a man grabbed her iPhone from her while she was riding in the subway. Offender was later arrested.

 

July 6, 2011

2900 block Wood Pipe Lane – 37″ LCD TV, Xbox, video games, keys to a 2001 Ford Explorer and $200 in cash.

600 block W. Rittenhouse St. – 2009 Ford E-250 stolen between 11:11 p.m. July 5 and 7 a.m. July 6. The car was later used in a burglary at 4:18 a.m. July 6.

5400 block Tacoma St. – Dell laptop stolen from the property. Complainant said he let an unknown female into his home for unreported reasons. He said the woman and the computer were gone when he returned from the bathroom.

300 block W. Queen Lane – lawnmower, weed wacker, shovel, two gas cans and two trashcans were stolen from a public housing complex. A maintenance supervisor said there were no signs of a break in.

4100 block N. Broad St. – complainant said a man punched him in the back of the head and took $2 from his hand at an A-Plus gas station.

4400 block N. Cleveland St. – complainant said her ex-boyfriend pulled out a handgun during a dispute and threatened to kill her. Offender then handed the firearm to an unknown female, who fled in a black SUV. Offender then fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

1500 block W. Allegheny Ave. – three complainants said two men attempted to rob them and that, as they ran away, gunshots were fired. The offenders stole a cell phone from one of the complainants. No injuries were reported.

 

July 7, 2011

5200 block Wissahickon Ave. – copper pipes and a water meter stolen from the property between 12-5 a.m. July 7.

5200 block Wissahickon Ave. – complainant said a man placed what he believed to be a gun to his lower back and said, “Give it up.” Offender then rifled through the complainant’s pockets. Offender fled on foot with a ring, watch and fully loaded handgun.

3400 block Crawford St. – iPAD, iPod, Kindle, Macbook laptop and a wallet stolen from the property between 11 p.m. July 6 and 6 a.m. July 7.

3700 block Germantown Ave. – iPhone stolen from a restaurant. Complainant said someone walked into the business and took the cell phone from the counter.

3500 block N. 22nd St. – steel beams stolen from the property. Complainant said the building is vacant and under construction.

1400 block W. Bristol St. – police arrested two men after they saw them punch the complainant and drag him towards the trunk of a car. The 2011 Volkswagen also contained an open shoe box filled with unidentified narcotics.

4400 block N. Cleveland St. – a man was murdered. Police found the complainant with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:34 p.m.

2700 block N. Ringgold St. – two pairs of sneakers, a phone charger and a bag of cosmetics were stolen from the property.

1600 block W. Toronto St. – wallet containing bank cards, drivers license, various IDs and $500 stolen from a 2007 Buick between 9:30 p.m. July 6 and 9 a.m. July 7.
