39th District: Guest turns violent on Christmas Day

This district covers lower West Germantown and East Falls as well as parts of Nicetown and Tioga.

400 block Hansberry St. – complainant said his brother cut him with a knife during a dispute over living conditions. Offender was arrested.

1500 block W. Cayuga St. – gas heater and copper pipes were stolen from the property between 1 p.m. Dec. 20 and 3 p.m. Dec. 23.

2800 block N. 22nd St. – complainant said an acquaintance punched him in the face and body after he accused the complainant of calling the cops on him. Complainant went to the hospital and was later transported to the Northwest Detectives Division.

 

Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010

100 block Hansberry St. – complainant said someone stole a cell phone from a grocery store counter.

3300 block N. 20th St. – complainant said a dinner guest became violent and cut her thumb with a knife. She refused medical treatment and a trip to the Northwest Detectives Division.

2400 block W. Toronto St. – humidifier, copper pipes and fittings stolen from the property between 12 p.m. Dec. 11 and 1:45 p.m. Dec. 25. Complainant said he was rehabbing the property.

1900 block Allegheny Ave. – complainant said two men robbed him at gunpoint while he was walking at the location. The offenders stole some cash and various identification cards.

2800 block N. Stillman St. – 2004 Ford Explorer stolen. Complainant said the keys were taken while company was over.

 

Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010

N. 16th St. / W. Erie Ave. – complainant said someone jumped into his 1996 Crown Victoria and drove off while he was inside a store.

 

Monday, Dec. 27, 2010

2900 block W. School House Ln. – 2006 Cadillac CTS stolen between 11 p.m. Dec. 26 and 11 a.m. Dec. 27.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010

5300 block Greene St. – complainant said that on Dec. 20 a cab driver punched him in the face five times and kicked him in the back for no reason. Offender fled from the scene. Complainant refused  to go to the hospital for his injuries which included a knocked out tooth.

3400 block N. 16th St. – stereo was stolen from a 2003 Mercedes ML230 SUV between 12:30 and 8 a.m. Dec. 28.  Complainant said she was unsure if she’d locked the car.

2100 block W.Tioga St. – complainant said an acquaintance spit in his face and sliced the top of his hand with a pocket knife during an argument over a chair. Offender was arrested.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010

3200 block N. 17th St. – copper pipes stolen from the property between 7 and 8 a.m. Dec. 15.

1600 block W. Butler St. – various tools, 42” TV, cable box and jewelry box were stolen from the property. Complainant said the offender helped him move into his apartment and that he later found his keys missing.  There was no forced entry.

1600 block Dounton St. – complainant said his girlfriend and her two brothers attacked him.  Complainant went to the hospital for treatment for a swollen left eye and fractured right arm.

2700 block N. Newark St. – complainant said her sister stabbed her in the left palm with a box cutter during a dispute. Complainant was taken to the hospital. The sister fled before police arrived.

 

Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010

400 block W. Queen Ln. – complainant said an acquaintance choked her, slapped her face and held a knife to her throat. When she tried to break free, the offender pushed her down the steps. The incident stemmed from an argument the two were having over Facebook. Complainant is 3 months pregnant.

1900 block W. Allegheny Ave. – complainant said he was shot in the face while three men were attempting to mug him.  Complainant was taken to the hospital.

N. 25th St. / W. Cambria St. – complainant said someone pushed her against a wall and robbed her at gunpoint after she left a corner store.
