MAY 23: 2600 block W. Cambria St. – a man was murdered. Police responded to a call that a man had been shot. Upon arriving, officers found the complainant lying in the street suffering from multiple bullet wounds. Complainant was taken to the hospital with two gunshot wounds in his right back, one in his right arm and one in his left hip. He was pronounced at 5:30 p.m.

May 20, 2011

3300 block Frederick St. – Apple iPod stolen from a 2007 Mazda CX-7 between 10:30 p.m. May 19 and 9 a.m. May 20.

4400 block Driftwood Drive – iPod Nano, radar detector, Ray-Ban sunglasses and a flash drive stolen from a 2011 BMW.

4300 block N. 17th St.  – 2002 Buick Century stolen, but recovered prior to the police report. Police pulled over the vehicle. The offender then fled the car on foot. Police made an arrest after complainant told them that no one had permission to use his car.

3600 block N. Bouvier St. – copper pipes stolen from the property between 12 p.m May 13 and 7:45 a.m. May 20. A neighbor called the property’s manager at 10 a.m. May 19 to tell him someone was in the apartment.

2700 block W. Lehigh Ave. – complainant said someone fired a gun inside his home while he was upstairs. Complainant went upstairs with his girlfriend after he heard banging on his front door. Police later noted that the front door was damaged and open. Police also found a bullet casing in front of the apartment’s main staircase.

2600 block W. Seltzer St. – complainant said his mother hit him with a stick and beat him with a belt and buckle at 2 a.m. May 19. The boy went to school later that day with bruises on his face arms.  There a nurse and gym teacher called the city’s Department of Human Services and police. The mother was at the school at the time. She was taken to the Special Victims Unit for processing.

2700 block N. Newark St. – complainant said an acquaintance beat her with a 2X4 before fleeing the scene. Complainant was taken to the hospital. Offender had been staying at the location.

May 21, 2011

200 block W. Chelten Ave. – employee of a Laundromat at the location said someone swiped his cell phone off a table while he was taking care of a customer. Complainant said the offender drove off in a 2002 Chrysler van.

5100 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said an acquaintance took his iPhone during an argument inside a barbershop and refused to give it back. The dispute was over some photos on the cell phone. The offender was arrested.

3500 block N. Smedley St. – 2001 Saturn L200 stolen between 9:30 p.m. May 20 and 10 a.m. May 21.

1900 block W. Airdrie St. – complainant said her boyfriend punched her in the face. Offender was arrested nearby.

1600 block W. Hunting Park – complainant said someone slashed the left side of his face with a knife while he was at a party. Complainant took himself to the hospital afterwards.

Germantown Ave. / W. Butler St. – the owner of a Laundromat said two men attacked her following a verbal dispute over a broken washing machine. One of the offenders knocked the complainant to the ground. The second offender kicked and stomped her head until she blacked out. Offenders fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Complainant said the incident was caught on camera.

1900 block W. Atlantic St. – 1995 Jeep Cherokee stolen between 8:30 p.m. May 20 and 8:30 a.m. May 21.

3200 block N. Dover St. – complainant said an acquaintance beat her with a hammer and took the keys to her 1998 Ford Expedition.

2100 block W. Clearfield St. – complainant said her ex-boyfriend raped her after he slapped, bit and punched her. Offender kept the complainant locked in the house until the next day. Complainant was taken to the Special Victims Unit.

May 22, 2011

2900 block W. School House Lane – 1995 Jeep Cherokee stolen between 10:30 p.m. May 21 and 9 a.m. May 22, 2011

4100 block N. Broad St. – two briefcases containing paperwork and $1,000 were stolen from a Dodge minivan.

3000 block N. 24th St. – complainant said a Buick sedan stopped in front of the location and fired four or five shots, two of which struck him in the back. Complainant was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.

May 23, 2011

3000 block Stokley St. – copper pipes stolen from a wireless tower between 12 p.m. May 9 and 2:34 p.m. May 23.

5000 block Wissahickon Ave. – an employee at the location said someone came up to the counter and robbed the store. It was unclear whether the offender used a real or simulated firearm during incident. He ran off with $150.

1700 block W. Ontario St. – 2006 Lexus GX4700 stolen. Complainant said he had left the keys inside the car. When he returned, he saw the vehicle pass by.

3500 block N. 18th St. – complainant said an acquaintance punched and choked her during an argument over another woman. Offender refused to let the complainant leave. He then placed a sharp object against her neck.

2600 block W. Cambria St. – a man was murdered. Police responded to a call that a man had been shot. Upon arriving, officers found the complainant lying in the street suffering from multiple bullet wounds. Complainant was taken to the hospital with two gunshot wounds in his right back, one in his right arm and one in his left hip. He was pronounced at 5:30 p.m.

May 24, 2011

4400 block Wissahickon Ave. – Garmin GPS, two chargers, GPS dock and an iPod stolen from a 2008 Toyota. A witness saw the offender taking the items after breaking the passenger side window. The items were later positively identified by the complainant. The offender was arrested.

500 block W. Chelten Ave. – Schwinn bike stolen from the location. Complainant said he parked the bike outside of a store. When he returned 15 minutes later, it was gone.

4200 block Henry Ave. – Gateway laptop and a carrying case stolen from the property between 7 p.m. April 20 and 10 a.m. May 23.

1900 block Rowan St. – complainant said an acquaintance stabbed him in the right temple with a flathead screwdriver during a verbal altercation. Complainant was taken to the hospital. Offender was still at the location when police arrived and was arrested.

1700 block W. Pacific St. – a pregnant complainant said an acquaintance stabbed her in the stomach with a knife after an argument over $10 she found on the ground. Complainant was taken to the hospital. Offender was gone when police arrived.

2700 block W. Lehigh Ave. – complainant is in critical condition after he was shot in the chest. There is no information on the offender.

2800 block N. Taylor St. – complainant said a woman hit her on the top of her head with an unknown object. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

2600 block W. Lehigh Ave. – complainant said someone hit her in the face with a beer bottle during a dispute inside a bar. Complainant was taken to the hospital. She was listed in stable condition. Offender was arrested.

2800 block N. Stillman St. – jewelry, Xbox and Kinect, video games, digital camera and three TVs stolen from the property between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 24.

2000 block W. Indiana Ave. – complainant said his dog went missing between 2-2:40 p.m. May 24.

May 25, 2011

5000 block Copley Road – fully-loaded handgun and $500 stolen from the property. Complainant said she went down to her basement and noticed the door was forced open and completely off its frame.  She said no one has been in the basement for about a month.

3900 block N. 18th St. – Lenovo laptop, Blackberry cell phone, EZ Pass and a blue bag were stolen from a 1993 Saab.

2400 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – laptop computer stolen from the property between 5 p.m. May 23 and 8:30 p.m. May 24. No there were no signs of a forced entry.

May 26, 2011

3300 block Indian Queen Lane – Garmin GPS and $2 stolen from an unlocked 1997 Nissan Maxima between 7 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. May 26.

3500 block N. 21st St. – complainant said his girlfriend scratched him, kicked him in the groin and spit on him after he refused to have sex with her. Complainant said the offender also attempted to stab him with a screwdriver and refused to let him leave the apartment.

1700 block W. Juniata St. – 36” LCD TV, HP laptop, house phone and a Rolex watch stolen from the property between 2:40 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 26.

1500 block W. Venango St. – complainant said her ex-boyfriend pulled up alongside her car and broke her passenger side window after throwing a glass bottle at it. Complainant said a small child sitting inside the offender’s car was cut by glass during the incident. Offender fled in an unknown direction.

1400 block Lenox Ave. – Xbox 360 console, eight video games, Apple Macbook and two Xbox remotes stolen from the property between 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. May 26.

2700 block N. Taylor St. – 42” Samsung LCD TV stolen from the property between 1 p.m. May 25 and 8 a.m. May 26.

2900 block N. Bambrey St. – jewelry and a box of credit union checks were stolen from the property between 9:30 a.m. May 26 and 6 p.m. May 29.

2100 block W. Stella St. – complainant said two men approached him behind, forced him into his house using a handgun and tied him and his wife up. The offenders stole the keys to the complainant’s Mercedes Benz and a 50” Samsung TV. It was unclear it anything else had been taken.
