25th Delaware AIDS Walk takes place this weekend

It’s a milestone in the fight against AIDS.  Delaware’s largest HIV / AIDS – related fundraiser, the AIDS Walk, takes place Saturday.

For a quarter-century, AIDS Delaware has been holding this event to raise awareness about AIDS and HIV and highlight the importance of prevention, research, treatment and fighting the stigma.  The New Castle County AIDS Walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Dravo Plaza on the Wilmington riverfront.  Registration at the site begins at 9:00 a.m. A 5K run precedes the walk at 8:30 a.m.  The cost of the run is $25.  Participants in the walk are encouraged to raise donations, but there is no registration fee.  AIDS Walks will also be held October 8th in Rehoboth Beach and October 15th in Dover.  For more information please call 302-652-6776 or visit www.aidswalkdelaware.org.
