Unemployed vent in Center City, ask Washington for help

Unemployed people in Philadelphia are hoping for a holiday gift from Washington.  Dozens brought their children to a Center City church to sign a card they plan to send to Washington.

Angela Terry is has been looking for a job since 2009.  “We want to work, we need more jobs, that’s what I’m praying and hoping that the message gets out clear locally and to the President,” Terry said.

Surai Green held up her daughter Faith to send their family’s message.  “I want to ask President Obama to please give my mom a job,” said Green.

The families are hoping the new year and new congress brings a new jobs program that will give them work.  Philadelphia just announced it received a $2.4 million job training grant.
